Caribbean Cargo DC provides this notice as a gentle reminder of the importance of properly and completely labeling cargo to avoid amendment fees.
The most important thing when it comes to shipping labels is ensuring that they can be read clearly and easily. Without all the information on the label, severe delays and possible cargo stoppages may occur. As a result, cargo finds itself stuck in customs or gets lost.
The shipping label tells readers what the package contains, who the sender and receiver are as well as their addresses. This information is key for both international logistics and customs staff as they need to know where and to whom the package needs to be delivered.
Shipping labels minimally show the following information:
- Sender AND recipient names and addresses (must match invoice)
- Barrel lid and its circumference must be marked with sender & recipient names and addresses
- The top and side of box or skids or pallet, etc. must be marked with sender & recipient names and addresses
- DO NOT write directly on shrink wrap as it may be torn during transit causing important shipping information to be destroyed
Caribbean Cargo DC aims to ensure our valued customers receive their cargo and freight in time and frustrations are avoided.
Failing to provide this information or requesting to change this information after drop-off or pickup will require customer to pay amendment and documentation fees as CCDC may have to prepare a letter to indicate the correct, new or complete details.
If you have any questions, please contact CCDC during our normal business hours for further assistance. Thank you for choosing CCDC!
