Caribbean Cargo DC Receives County Office Business Award For Black History Month
Prince George’s County Economic Development Corporation Honors CCDC As A Leading Business In The Community
Largo, MD (February 28, 2018) – Caribbean Cargo DC received recognition from the Prince George’s County Economic Development Corporation during the Black History Month Business Appreciation Roundtable and Ceremony. The event took place on Monday, February 26th in Largo, Maryland and honored local Prince George’s County as history-makers based on their contributions in the business community.
PGCEDC President and CEO, Jim Coleman, was delighted to have Caribbean Cargo DC recognized as a business leader in Prince George’s County. The ceremony included a Business Roundtable where PGCEDC opened the round-table discussion to ask how the County Office could help better serve Prince George’s County businesses. The program began with greetings and congratulations from Mr. Coleman and Deputy Director of Business Services, Jeffrey Swilley. At the conclusion of the round-table discussion, a Certificate of Appreciation was awarded to Caribbean Cargo DC as well as to each of the other businesses being honored. The event also included a television interview, photo ops with PGCEDC President Jim Coleman and social media exposure for Caribbean Cargo DC.
February is Black History Month in the United States and was first celebrated in 1926. February is a month that includes the birthdays of both Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass. The celebration was expanded to a month in 1976, the United States’ bicentennial. Caribbean Cargo DC commemorates and celebrates the contributions to our nation made by people of African descent.
