It has been less than a week since Hurricane Dorian devastated The Bahamas. According to a recent update by CNN, the death toll has risen to thirty people who lost their lives with over a hundred people still missing. The work has just begun in rebuilding a beloved Caribbean vacation destination.
Caribbean Cargo DC continues to embrace our brothers and sisters in The Bahamas. We encourage those who would like to offer their support to visit WWW.CNN.COM/IMPACT to learn how to best support hurricane recovery efforts.
As repair efforts continue, please be advised that ports in The Bahamas are currently closed until the island’s government officials declare otherwise. Until further notice, Caribbean Cargo DC is unable to accept shipments to The Bahamas. Once we have been notified by our vendors that the ports will reopen, we will begin to assist customers in preparing cargo for shipment.
Following such natural disasters, the local government may only authorize acceptance of and prioritize the import of general relief freight and cargo shipments.
We will relay important updates as our vendors and the local government in The Bahamas. Caribbean Cargo DC will continue to keep The Bahamas in heart and prayer.
