Service Update: Montego Bay, Jamaica – Cargo Export Operations Have Resumed
Caribbean Cargo DC is pleased to announce that our Montego Bay, Jamaica cargo operations have officially resumed following temporary disruptions caused by Hurricane Melissa.
Our shipping partner in Montego Bay, Combined Freight Forwarders, has confirmed that the port has reopened and containers are now being received, offloaded, and processed, including the most recent shipment (Container SMLU313292-3) which was successfully offloaded “a short while ago.”
Although some facilities in the Freeport area are still recovering from storm damage, the Montego Bay team has completed major office clean-up and is back in operation, with continued progress expected as utilities are restored.
Our CCDC team has already resumed loading outbound containers, with another scheduled loading next week.
- Containers are now offloading in MoBay.
- Releasing documents are being processed by our partner.
- Warehouse teams are active, with monitoring in place to protect cargo while repairs continue.
While service is restored, our Montego Bay shipping partner notes ongoing challenges:
- Limited electricity & internet access in affected areas
- Slow stripping of containers due to weather and roof repairs
- Communication delays from local service providers
Despite these factors, operations are moving forward and improving daily.
Customers in the Mid-Atlantic region may now book shipments to Montego Bay as usual. Barrels, boxes, crates, appliances, personal effects, vehicles, and commercial cargo and additional personal items are all accepted.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our Jamaica partners who are working hard under difficult post-storm conditions to keep cargo flowing safely. Their resilience allows us to fully restore Montego Bay export service for our customers.
